Fun Things for Your Family to Do in the Columbia Valley While You Golf!

The Columbia Valley is a popular destination for golfers and families, not only are there numerous golf courses to choose from, there’s also a bunch of fun things for families to do!  We’ve selected our favourite family activities in the Columbia Valley to share with you.

Parks and Beaches

For families with young children, favourite beach parks include Kinsmen Beach, which has plenty of shade and a swimming area, and James Chabot Provincial Park, which features an adventure playground and wildlife boardwalk.

Golf at Windermere Valley Golf Course

The course plays to a par of 66, is like a breath of fresh air for golfers who get tired of lengthy rounds and are looking for conveniently shorter games, leaving them plenty of time to golf and enjoy other attractions in the valley. Young or old, expert or beginner. Read more.

Golf at Eagle Ranch Golf Course

This awe-inspiring course includes holes that plunge down the fall lines, meander through the pines and cruise high along the bluffs. Eagle Ranch golf course is in a stirring setting made even more dramatic by its Rocky and Purcell Mountain views. Read more. 


Radium Hot Springs

A popular destination in the Columbia Valley is Radium Hot Springs which offers both a larger hot pool and a smaller cooler swimming pool. The historic site is situated inside the red walls of Sinclair canyon. The Hot Springs are a short, fun drive from Invermere.

Golf at Springs Course

Consistently rated as one of BC’s top courses in Canada, The Springs Course features its go-for-broke par-5s, heroic tee shots over ravines and a terrific quartet of par-3s.  Read more. 

Golf at Radium Course

Fairmont Hot Springs

If your family likes to swim and soak you should also visit Fairmont Hot Springs. Located on the south end of the Valley, these hot springs are the largest in Canada! Like Radium Hot Spring, Fairmont also has a cooler swimming pool. Make a whole day of it, the resort also offer horseback riding and other adventures. Fairmont Hot Springs have three courses to choose from including Creekside, a 9 hole par 3 course perfect for families and beginners.

Featuring wonderful views, beautiful conditioning and a riveting collection of golf holes, this mature, tree-lined layout has been a popular choice in the region for decades.  Read more.

Golf at Fairmont Riverside

‘A river runs through it’ is the dominant theme at Riverside, one of the most enjoyable courses to play! Indeed, the fast-flowing Columbia River is always close at hand and this contemporary design is laced with memorable golf holes that showcase the striking nature of this property. Read more.


Farmers and Artists Market

The Invermere Farmers and Artists Market runs every Saturday from 9amto 1pm, until September 9th.  This is a great place to discover some locally made, baked and grown produce, products and crafts, and there is also live music! The market is located on 6th Ave and 12th Street, near the lake in downtown Invermere. Read more.

Golf at The Point at Copper Point

This highly strategic course that will require every club in your bag. A natural, lay-of-the-land route with numerous ‘classic’ elements, such as roughly hewn bunkers and excellent use of existing hills and ravines, the architectural merit of this design warrants play on its own.  Read more.

The Ridge at Copper Point

This a par-62 Masters Course – which features some of the strongest holes at Copper Point – can often be played in just three hours.
