Golfing for a Good Cause: Golfathon at Copper Point
During the month of June, the PGA of British Columbia golf professionals golf from sunrise to sunset in support of people living with ALS in BC. Along the Columbia Valley Golf Trail, the Copper Point Golf Club professionals hosted the annual Golfathon for ALS on June 27, 2023.
Brian Schaal, Scott McClain, Dennis Bradley, and Dale Moore of Copper Point Golf Club set out for a day of golf, starting rounds at 4:55 a.m. and finishing at 10:40 p.m. The result? Collectively 639 holes of golf played with a collective score of 2276. With online and in-person donations at the club, Copper Point Golf Club has raised over $17,000 in donations to the ALS Society of BC.
“Playing together as a PGA of BC team is always a highlight plus ~almost~ getting another hole in one!” Is one of the highlights of the Golfathon, says Scott McClain, head professional at Copper Point Golf.
“Copper Point Golf continues to support this initiative since it’s inception. We appreciate all who have donated so far towards our efforts! More importantly, we encourage others to donate because this is not just a one-day effort. ALS doesn’t stop and neither will we. ”
